The Gospel Lites began singing in 1972 at the Penderlea Baptist Church, in Penderlea NC. The Gospel Lites toured across NC until 1976. The Gospel Lites reemerged in July of 2006, after 30 years apart. The Gospel Lites are made up of 6 members:
*William Rivenbark-Lead/Tenor, only 17 years old when The Gospel Lites began touring in 1972.
*Joey Rivenbark-Baritone, only 16 years old when The Gospel Lites began touring in 1972.
*Glenn Rogers-Bass, only 17 years old when The Gospel Lites began touring in 1972.
*Shirley Rich-Alto/Pianist, only 15 years old when The Gospel Lites began touring in 1972.
*Jerry Merritt - Joined group in May 2021 playing bass guitar. Jerry is very talented and will be joining us singing on many of our selections.
*Tollie Mitchell - Joined group in June 2021 playing acoustic guitar and also will be sharing his excellent tenor voice singing as well.
*Trawick Giddeons - Joined group in March of 2024 as our new drummer. Trawick is very talented and is a great asset to the group.
*Scott Rivenbark - Sound Technician! Scott is the son of William Rivenbark and does an outstanding job mixing and running the sound for the group!
